The role of the canards is to reduce lift force (the phenomenon in which the vehicle body is lifted by the wind while traveling).By creating air vortices on the sides of the front bumper and generating negative pressure, the pressure inside the wheel wells, which is the cause of lift force, is reduced.
Takumi Project’s carbon canards, developed with street racing in mind, are designed to achieve this function efficiently with minimal volume.
The folded wing tips are designed to not capture more wind than necessary, reducing the generation of drag (air resistance) that spoils driving performance.
The protrusion is slight, and the sense of width is almost the same as in stock condition, so there is no need to worry about it being bothersome when driving.
Made from high-quality carbon fiber, it comes in three different specifications to suit your taste.
The items are available in three variations: 「極KIWAMI」、「匠TAKUMI」、「雅MIYABI」 . ” All have a common “carbon (CFRP) x clear coating finish” on the surface, with only the backside specifications differing.
Regardless of which type you choose, the aerodynamic function and fitting quality will be the same. You will feel a greater sense of contact with the road at high speeds and a definite downforce effect.
Safe and secure screw-fastening installation
Takumi Project’s carbon canards are specially designed for the original bumpers of the WRX STI & S4 (early/late models).
The best position for installation is one that fits snugly against the shape of the bumper, ensuring maximum functionality.
For security, a “screw fastening method” is used for installation. By using a nut nut on the female side and fastening it with a bolt, it is possible to easily attach and remove the canards.
