- Aero parts that combine functionality and design to give the Type R a more racy look, and are supported from the street to the circuit.
- The stylish form was created through CFD analysis and 3D CAD modeling, and is designed to improve driving stability.

Front spoiler
- It inherits the look of previous HKS time attack machines and gives off a powerful impression.
- Carbon fiber barge panels are attached to both ends to provide ideal airflow and a subtle racy look.
- It has a +45mm projection, making it even more impressive.
Side skirts
- Simple split front and rear side skirts are provided to balance with the original body design.
- While keeping the concept of simplicity, the rear part has a powerful shape that gives it a powerful look without compromising the original body’s press lines, so that the difference can be seen when standing next to the vehicle. In addition, a barge panel, which is the identity of HKS aero, has been added.
- Carbon barge panels are attached to give it a racy look.
Rear spoiler

- CFD analysis was conducted on the original CIVIC TYPE-R body, and the optimal aero part shape was selected using HKS’ aerodynamics technology.

Improved aerodynamics achieved with the HKS ducktail
- Improved downforce:
Downforce is generated by streamlining the passing air and directing it upwards, improving stability during high-speed driving. - Reducing drag (air resistance)
Drag is reduced by smoothly directing air from the top of the vehicle to the rear. - Improved straight-line stability.
Because the air that passes under the rear of the vehicle is prone to generating vortices (increasing drag), the design has been such that the airflow is directed upwards, thereby suppressing turbulence and improving straight-line stability.

Functionality and Fit

- Combined with CFD analysis, optimal aero parts design is possible.
- Utilizing 3D scanning and 3D-CAD, we pursued high-precision fitting through designs based on the actual product.

Actual driving test at FUJI SPEEDWAY
- Based on CFD analysis and 3D-CAD design, the final on-road test was carried out. The Fuji Speedway, which requires stability at high speeds, was selected as the test course, and repeated testing was carried out at speeds exceeding 220km/h.
The aerodynamic balance and mounting strength of the front spoiler, side skirts, rear spoiler, and ducktail were thoroughly checked.
[Why did HKS choose FUJI SPEEDWAY?]
FUJI SPEEDWAY is one of Japan’s leading high-speed circuits, with a total length of over 4.5 km. The 1.5 km long straight is the perfect environment for testing the aerodynamic characteristics of aero parts. Here, the car’s behavior at speeds approaching 300 km/h can be confirmed, and stability at high speeds is required. In addition, there are many technical corners, making it an important test field for confirming how the front spoiler and side skirts create downforce, and how the rear spoiler and ducktail work together to improve stability during cornering. After testing in such a harsh environment, the reliable performance and strength of the HKS BODY KIT TYPE-S was demonstrated.
