- The LA Clutch series will be adding the GR86 (ZN8)/BRZ (ZD8) to its lineup. With an allowable torque of 440N・m (45kgfm) and an expected output of 310kw (420ps) , it is compatible with not only the GT2 supercharger kit but also the bolt-on turbo specification (※).
- It has an overwhelming capacity for a single clutch for the GR86/BRZ.
- By reviewing the conventional facing material and suppressing the increase in wear and the decrease in friction coefficient at high temperatures, torque capacity is secured and stable performance is achieved.
- The weight of the flywheel has been revised from the FA20 product, improving heat mass (heat capacity) and ease of use.
1Balance between pedal force and pressure
The clamping force has been increased to achieve sufficient torque capacity, but it does not have a heavy clutch pedal like conventional reinforced clutches, and instead provides a feeling close to that of the original.
2The facing material has been revised to ensure torque capacity. New Φ230 “MG composite disc” is used.
The new material disc is made of lightweight and strong fibers that are highly heat resistant by combining materials and heat-resistant other materials, and by weaving them with high-strength fibers, we have ensured wear resistance at high temperatures and suppressed the decrease in the friction coefficient. This leads to a mild feeling when starting off normally, but when driving on a circuit, there is no slipping, so you can drive with confidence.
3 Strap drive mechanism
The clutch cover uses a strap drive mechanism to ensure reliable disengagement.
The strap drive mechanism eliminates the rattling noise when disengaging the clutch, so you don’t have to worry about noise even in residential areas.
4Improved response
The flywheel weight has been optimized for each vehicle model. Despite being lighter than the stock, this optimization has achieved sharp response and acceleration performance without any jerky feeling at low revolutions.
5.Reduction of abnormal noise and protection of drive system
The disc damper reduces unpleasant gear noise from the transmission. This damper also absorbs shock torque, protecting the transmission and other drivetrain components.
*For bolt-on turbo specifications, please use within the allowable torque range.
Using beyond the allowable torque will cause slippage.
■Precautions for use
- The tolerance range is the range of engine torque that can be used as long as the clutch is not overheated by intentionally using half-clutch, etc.
- The conditional tolerance range is the range in which slippage may occur due to rough handling, kickback from the tires, or distortion of various parts during use.
- Above the permissible limit is the range in which slippage occurs when engaging at high revolutions.
- The physical limit is the point at which slippage occurs simply by pressing the accelerator while driving.
- After installing the clutch kit, the transmission may make a gear chattering noise (rattle noise) when idling or accelerating/decelerating at around 2000 rpm, but this is not a malfunction or breakdown.
